Movie concept: The CIA comes to War Machine’s cell and says they have a mission for him. Drop him in Syria and he has 36 hours to find the head of ISIS and kill him. If he fails a bomb implanted in his neck will explode. Coming in 2015.
The Blair Witch Project is 15 years old today. I saw an early screening of it back in high school before there were even trailers for it. As a dumb kid I totally thought it was actual found footage and it wasn’t until I saw the cast on Leno when I was like WTF???
Just got back from The Raid 2. It was amazing. Imagine the first film meets The Departed. Easily the most violent movie I’ve ever seen. The audience was freaking out.
The self-rescuing damsel trope takes a sinister turn in Saman Kesh's action-packed shortController. A young woman is being held captive, so she takes control of her boyfriend’s body in order to rescue herself.
Kesh wrote and directed this Taiwanese film, which feels in many places like a scifi anime brought to life. But the gorgeous cinematography lends a spooky and sometimes sad quality to the short.

However, I don’t think this should be made into a 2 hour film. Just too much to cram into that. I think it would be AMAZING as a 8-10 episode HBO miniseries. If they were smart that’s what they’d do. They can do that with a smaller budget. Have more character development and tell a better story. A film would waste all it’s money on CGI and A list actors…
Great concept. First half of the movie is decent as you get to understand all the characters, whats going on and the culture of the country if Michelle Bachman was elected President. Then the second half is a typical horror movie mess of everyone making “stupid horror movie decisions”
Lena Headey and Ethan Hawke do not bring their best performances but you can tell there wasn’t much in the writing.
I would say its a rental. But you’re better off watching Funny Games or Clockwork Orange.
